Apostles of the Fifohazana (the Awakening) are gathering in the village of Soatanana where the religion started in 1893. According to the story, Dada Rainisoalambo who practiced a mix of traditional religion and christianity fell fatally ill. God appeared to him and asked him to give up his amulets. Rainisoamlambo accepted and recovered from his disease. He then founded the holy village of Soatanna, which, beyond being a religious community is also a social model. Everyone devotes one day a week for the community. The poorest are taken care of and education is provided for 1500 children. Apostles are high members of the community.
